Show ORCHARD scout work. The Orchard ward Primary arc happy to have Dawnic Anderson An-derson as one o their new teachers. She is taking Mary Talbot's place as she is now in the state Mutual. Through the work and preparation of Mr. andMrs. Norm Allen, who planned this trip they traveled to Cache Valley and up Black Fork canyon where they visited visit-ed the Hardware ranch. From there arrangements were made ifor them to be taken by bob-Lsleigh bob-Lsleigh and sec the elk herd. Thcy were very lucky, while there a herd of 400 elk appear cd which included a big bull elk. HELEN LL'NDGKEEN Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Sessions are the happy parents of a new baby girl born Feb. 1. All of their other three children were born on the 30th of the month so this was quite a change. Friends of Mrs. Hario Wilson Wil-son will be happy to know that she is now home from the hospital hos-pital after a ten day stay there following an operation on her bark. She is improving steadily, stead-ily, although she has a lot of pain. The doctor informed her that this pain will last until the bone which was chipped off grows back. Beth Ann Madson was the lucky winner of an Atlas vacuum va-cuum cleaners for her hope chest. It seems chicken pox is still around the area. Carl Dibble just over them and now little Francine Clark is down witli them. Congratulations are also ir order for the George Salisbuys who now have a new baby gir at their house. She has foul brothers and sisters at home tc greet her. Bill Conrady has been out o work for the last couple o . days because of this flu goinf around. Of interest to mothers in thi South Davis stake is the montl ly well baby clinic held at tin stake house every seconi Thursday of the month. All pre-school children who need i their various shots and exami- i nations are taken care of by a ' doctor and two nurses. This ' starts at 1 p.m. on Thursday, i Feb. 13 and goes until the doctor doc-tor runs out of patients. : Mrs. Spader of Tooele, Utah is staying with her daughter, Sally Allen, after being released re-leased from a Salt Lake hospital hos-pital where she had been for three weeks. She is suffering f:cm a .stroke. Friends of Mrs. Maine Stevens Stev-ens will be sorry to learn of the death of her husband, II. B. Stevens of Salt Lake City. New Relief Society chorister in the Orchard ward is Mrs. Audrey Gardner. She is also leading the singing mothers of the ward. Most people will know her as the beauty operator oper-ator in this area. A banquet for the Orchard 2nd and Val Verda wards cub scouts was held at the stake house recently. This was their annual Blue and Gold banquet This year just the fathers were invited. There was 100 oi the cub scouts in attendance and they put on the program themselves for their fathers, which was enjoyed very much The South Davis stake guide patrol classes and their teachers teach-ers enjoyed an interesting trip house. Mrs. Daniel McDonough's mother, Mrs. Almina W. Baird passed away at her daughters home here in Bountiful on Tuesday, Feb. 4. She had been staying with her daughter after having an operation recently re-cently at the St. Mark's hospital. hos-pital. Orchard Church News The movies, The Life of Christ and The Life of Paul were enjoyed by a group of Sunday School teachers at the home of Dick Home, who is stake Sunday School leader. Six of the 11 wards in the stake were represented. In sacrament meeting Sunday Sun-day in the Orchard ward, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Jenkins named nam-ed their liltl egirl Denise and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Robinson named their new boy Donald. B'riday night Ireta Taylor's home was the scene of the Orchard Or-chard ward Primary preparation prepara-tion meeting. She and Evelyn Poulson were the hostesses. The lesson was presented by Shirley Williamson. Also on Friday Dan Snow, national representative for the cub scouts of the South Davis stake was the speaker to boys 8, 9 and 10 years of age and their parents in an effort to sign these boys up for cub |
