Show New Mining District Situated Near Curric Showing Up Fine Values.' COPPER, SILVER AND GOLD IN ABUNDANCE Outcroppings Described as Being Be-ing Ideal for Mining and Early Shipments. Special to Tlio Tribune. CURR1E, Nov., Dec. 2. T, F, Bani-gau Bani-gau has returned to Currie with samples of high-grade copper ore nnd quartz showing free gold from the Mizpnh mining district, eighteen miles northeast of tho Curric station, Elko county. Two now strikes have been made in the new camp. W. J, Corbctt and J. Barren, in company with one of the original locators, lo-cators, discovered a five-foot lodge of 30 per cent copper ore. Konsinger and Ilonnold, one mile south, trenched across a vein that shows copper sulphides for a width of twenty feet, from which they obtained values of S'i nor cent copper and $5.fi0 in gold and silver. The original locations comprise a townsite and twenty-seven claims, showing nine different croppings of shipping orp. On tho Nevada Northern claim an eight-foot cropping is exposed, ex-posed, carrying $70 in gold, silver and copper. Average samples of other croppings crop-pings gave values of $100 gold across a two-foot ledgo and $2S.S0 gold and SVj per cent copper from a three-foot ledge. The decomposed portion of veins and surface dirt pans free gold. Tho formation is granite, diorite and lime, cut. by porphyry tlykcs, along the contact of which lie'vefns from ten to ono hundred feet wide, that can be traced for Ihreo nnd four thousand feet, showing immense quantities of iron oxides ox-ides and pyrites. Old prospectors that have examined the Mizpnh district declare de-clare thoy havo never seen stronger veins or better surface indications. The now camp is admirably situated for transportation facilities, being in tho low foothills, similar in location to the southern mines, and within four miles of th'e Nevada Northern railroad and twenty miles of the Western Pacific survey. The miners nro doing assessment assess-ment work on the various croppings as fast, as possible, and within two months will be piling up ore rend- for shipment ship-ment from the new camp. |
