Show rjiAJEiisToun DRAWIHE JO CLOSE Dr. Plummer and Tibbals AVill Meet in Championship Match Monday. In tho semi-final round of the Y. M. C. A. tennis tournament, Dr. Plummer and AY. H. Tibbals carried off the honors, and on Monday Mon-day afternoon will meet in a match to de-cido de-cido the championship. Both of those men hare showed up well throughout the entire tournament. On tho whole, however. Dr. Plivmrner has moro quickly disposed of his oppononts than has Tibbals, hut to tho credit of the Iattor lot it be said that ho plays ii fighting garao and is always there with the come-back. Tibbals defeated Shepard yesterday in two straight matches by scores of 8-C, S-G; Both men showed ability in placing their serves. Tibbnls, however, playod tho faster game and covered moro territory Ir. probably the fastest game of the tournament. Dr. Plummer beat Caley in two straight sots, by scorc3 of G-4, 6-1. The Plummer-Parsons match resulted in another easv victory for tho doctor br scores of 0-1, 6-1. As during tho othur days of tho tournament, tourna-ment, tho courts wcro in splendid shupe for yesterday's matches. The drawinR for the consolation round took place Saturday afternoon and resulted as follows: Oscar L. Cox vs. Paul Armstrong; Louis Soulcs vs. J G White; F. T. Scott v.. H. Shearman. George Taylor plays the winner of tho matches between F. T. Scott and Shearman and A. Walters and Ralph Bowdle. All persons who aro not present to ploy as per schedule on Monday will forfeit their games, and the two prizes will go to tho winners of thoso present |
