Show interest eieeo in i IHEHUiB DEBATES I University of Utah Students Much Pleased With the Idoa. The students of tho "University of Utah have already evinced their interest inter-est in the plan for iuter-class debating, which was adopted last week by the election of class managers of debating, who, with a representative from the alumni and another from the faculty, will constitute a governing board, which will control all debating at the school during the coming yean. Will P. Milllin, from the senior class; Joseph Jensen, from the. junior class, annd N. W. Cummings, from the freshman fresh-man class, are. tho new members of the debating board, who have been chosen within the present week. The repro-, i seutative from the sophomore class was chosen about two weeks ago. Tho faculty and alumni "representatives j havo not been chosen. The senior class has decided upon the dotails of its class pin. The pin will consist of a block ' u," as was decided last year at a meeting of all tho col-lego col-lego 'classes. The background of the pin is optional with the graduating class. This year the background will be symbolical of ihe department from I which the student graduates. The I medical students will have tho skull and cross-bones, tho engineer a hammer, and the arts an open book. . - ! The members of tho Medical society of the school have issued invitations for their ball, to be given on Halloween, Hal-loween, October 26. As Halloween is tho one day in ' tho year when spooks appear, it is not at all improbable that many of these will assist iu making, tbo Medicos' ball" one of the most , novel ever given at the school. |
