Show Cache County Iron Deposits Have No Superior The World Over. E. H. WILSON GIVES DESCRIPTION OF ORE Quality Unsurpassed by Any Found Even in State of Michigan. E. H. "Wilson, prominently connected with many properties in this State, has in an ivon mine in Cache county one j of tho most tempting propositions in all the West. fr. Wilson not only is i enthusiastic over this propertj, but he j sees for all Cache county an era of I prosperity which will assume no small dimensions as soon as present plans arc under way. Little has been said about tho iron "deposits of this Utah region, but it is an industry which will mean a great deal within 'a. short time. Mr "Wilson recently secured an option for one year upon this iron deposit, and he stated Tuesday before departing for Beaver county that this option would be taken up in good time. The properly he, states is within eighteen miles of Logan, and was owned by the Logan Mine company. Recently threo different parties of exports representing repre-senting largo iron and steel interests of Minnesota, Pittsburg and the West have made an inspection of these de posits. Mr. Wilson and his associates have refused several offers for the property. They are doing a great deal of development work upon their own account, but Mr. Wilson states that they are considering a proposition recently re-cently made them by prominent iron people for a long lease upon, this ground. This lease if- let will run for twenty-five years, calling . for an extraction ex-traction of not less than 300,000 tons per year. The roj-alty as partially agreed upon will be 2 per cent in excess ex-cess of any similar one ever made in the iron business. Mr. Wilson is one of the iron experts ex-perts of the country. He has had many years of experience in this line of activity, ac-tivity, and ne states that while he has seen equal tonnages elsewhere ho never ran across such magnificent quality of iron oro before. He states the quality is ideal, there being no phosphorous in the ore, and that it will run over 70 per cent pure. The deposit is 1000 feet wide, and extends for a distance of 6000 feet across the property. From the nature of the outcrop upon the precipitous mountain the deposit can be seen to be fully 1000 feet in depth, and will, of course, extend still deeper. Experts who have made an examination of this ground unite in saying" that there is only one property in the country coun-try that equals this m every way, and that is the Republic mine in Michigan. The holders of the' option are doing a great deal of work at this time, one shaft being down 200 feet, having gone down from grass roots upon the abovo described character of ore. Such showings, show-ings, taken into connection with the flattering offers that have been made for the mine, have fully .-justified Mr. Wilson and "his associates in saying that this property will be a great proposition for themselves, for Cache county and for Utah. |
