Show BIDS ARE OPENED EDR MORE IMPROVEMENTS Board of Public Works Gets Tenders for Sidewalk and Sewer Extensions. Bids for twenty-four miles of sewer and twelve miles of sidewalk extensions wero opened by the Board of Public Works Monday. IjuI owing to the absenco of a quorum of the board from the city, no action was taken toward awarding the contracts. They will be let as soon as a quorum of tho board can be mustered. mus-tered. There were two bids on Sower Extension Exten-sion No. 178, which embraces all that district bounded by South Temple, First North, Main and Third West stroots. The bids were Davis. Ilclsor & Drake, $1.91 por linear foot, or $31.634. 70; James Kennedy, Ken-nedy, ?39, 897.30. or $2.46 per linear foot. James Kennedy was tho only bidder on Sewer Extension No. ISO, which Is hounded by Fifth and Ninth South, tho gravity sower and Ninth East streets. Mr. Kennedy's bid was ?2.05 per linear foot, or 51I4.M5.75. Mr. Kennedy was llkcwlso tho only bidder on Sewor Extonslon No. 182. which Is tho district bounded by Fifth and Ninth South, Main and Second West streets. His bid was $2-105 per linear foot, or SfiK.724.ni Tho bids on Sidewalk Extension No. S9. embracing all the cross streets not now sldowalked In tho djstrlct hounded by Brlgham street. Third avonue. Sidewalk Extension No. 121 Includes the north side of Eighth South street, from Eighth to Ninth West; tho north sido of Tltusvlllo nvenue from Ninth West to the Jordan river, and the north sido of Indiana avenue from tho Jordan river to Cheyenno street. The bids on this extension were: Johnson & Beacom. $4.-112.95; $4.-112.95; S. Birch. $4,176.75. Tho contracts for tho sewor extensions exten-sions will he awarded under the new law governing local Improvements, as passed by the Legislature of 1907. The contracts con-tracts for tho sidewalk extensions, however, how-ever, will be awarded under tho old law. |
