Ser-vla. King Pi ter I , his mother being Princess Helena of the House of Kara -georgevitch, and his father Count Stephen Nicholas. When 15 years of age. the boy John quarreled with his father and came to this country, where he learnerl the trade which he afterward followed. He wrote home that nobility was no longer a matter of concern to him in a free country where all menhir,- so ..reigns. Since then he held no communication with hia noid. relatives until bis cousin ascended the throne of Scrvia. when he sent his congratulations as a kinsman.
