Show TRADE AND BUSINESS. The week has been fruitful In progressive pro-gressive facts and sentiment helpful to Salt Lake. The realty situation Is strong and hopeful. Good deals have been reported throughout the week, prominent among which have been the purchase by local Interests of the Campbell property on West Temple and Third South streets (known of old as the "Buttermilk" Johnson corner,) for fifty thousand dollars, and the Llch-tenstein Llch-tenstein purchase on State street below-Second below-Second South, for $26,700. Both of these purchases are for the purpose of constructing con-structing good business blocks. These, and other purchases, notably the $32,00") purchase of twenty feet by Mr. Mc-Cornlck, Mc-Cornlck, lust north of his great business busi-ness block, corner of Main and First South, establish the fact that no matter mat-ter how high an opinion outside Investors Inves-tors have of the desirability of Investments Invest-ments In Salt Lake realty, our local capitalists cannot be exceeded in this high opinion. And that It Is all Justified Jus-tified most fully, one has only to examine ex-amine the country to see; for a thousand thou-sand miles Salt Lake is the center of the Immense mountain region with no posslblo rival city; and Immediately surrounding the city are resources In mines, healing waters, summer and winter resorts, agriculture, stock raising, rais-ing, and all forms of business and commerce. com-merce. The sugar beet Industry alone Is enough to make here a great city, and this Is tho center of that Industry The railroad situation has been further fur-ther brightened during the week by the news (confirmed yesterday by former Senator Thomas Kearns) of the letting of contracts to build a branch of tho Salt Lake Route from Las Vegas to Bullfrog, at a cost of five million dollars, dol-lars, with a length of a hundred and twenty-five miles. This will complete the first through line, from rail to rail, north and south, In Nevada It will also be Important for this city. In opening open-ing up a new and direct rail route from the wonderfully rich mining camps of that State for their ores to come to this city for treatment. It will be a valuable val-uable aid to Salt Lake's forward march In industrial greatness. Good reports come from the Moffat road.
