April 13. - A mining boom Is "promised for the Rapid River mining district In the northern part of this county. President Ncvln. of tho Iron Springs Consolidated Mining company, ono of the strongest mining corporations In Iho State, returned yesterday from tho East, where he han been for tho past two monlhs purchasing machinery for the mlno nnd mill. A 100-ton cyanldo plnnt and complete olectrlcal plant to operate It was purchased by Mr. Novln. Th'jso aro expected to' bo Installed and In operation by next fall. The company will also grade a road from the mine to a Junction with the lino of the proposed extension of the P. & I. N. rdllway from Council ti Meadows. The grade will be used a3 a wagon road this year anil next year an electric railway line will run from Iho railroad lo mine, a distance of twenty miles. The Rankin mill on Rapid River, which has been Idle for tho past two years, has been purchased by an association of mining men and will be operated this summer on Rjipld River ores. |
