Some well-known horses have Just passed under the hammer ham-mer at the Newmarket sales. Sir James Miller sent up the whole of his horses In training, with the exception of the three-year-olds, but they were not all sold, the exposed PharlBee for one, eliciting no bid. Wild Oata, however, realized ?10,000, the purchaser being Mr Hall "Walker, and he no doubt goes to keep Count Chomberg company at the Tully stud. Cossack aroused little competition, com-petition, considering his antecedents, Mr. Fred Dye getting him for $1850. Mr. J, Robinson gave $3500 for Housewife; House-wife; Butters, the trainer, $3500 for Mozart. Mo-zart. The Seaton place winner, Illustrious, was disposed of 'to Mr. W. M. Singer for ?8000. and the smart St. Ives, unbeaten un-beaten until Waterflower vanquished her, was sold to MaJ. Beatty for ?5000. |
