Show I Observes birthday Sat One of oldest residents Mrs Ellen Walton Williams will observe her birthday Saturday April 27 Mrs Williams was born in Centerville April 27 1869 She was the third child out of o eight children born to Fredrick and Elizabeth Garwood Walton Her childhood was spent in Centerville where here she attended attend attend- ed the village school For the most part she attended summer summer sum sum- mer school only as the older older children had bad to go in the winter winter winter win win- ter but as the others grew older she too was able to at- at winter school On November 3 1892 Ellen married John Thomas Williams Their first home borne was in Cen- Cen terville During their first few years of marriage the they y yin lived in C Centerville er i t erville and Huntsville In 1897 they moved to South Farmington where they purchased purchased pur par chased part of the Glover farm Mrs 1 Williams days were full full for them were born seven children children children chil chil- dren Mrs 1 Lola Barnett Farmington Farmington Farm Farm- ington Mrs Rosalind Simp- Simp Simpson son on San S-n S Diego Calif Vivian R. B B Williams of Farmington In 1939 when their children were raised and married Mr and d Mrs rs Williams left their home on the farm and moved to the present home in the center center center cen cen- ter of Farmington where they could be close close to church and community activities In 1948 at the age of 84 Mr Mrs Williams passed away Williams still maintains her cozy home and attends church and ward entertainments She Sheh has h s been a great asset with w th her quilting at Relief Society Mrs Williams is an member of the Sagamore camp DUP of Centerville where she has the distinction of being one of the very few living native native native na na- tive pioneers Throughout the years her body and mind have been kept alert and active by keeping busy and being interested in in others Her life has been centered center cen cen- ter d around her family and each new addition took a a special l place in her heart Many happy hours are still spent nent working in in her flower g gardens d ns or doing needlework She has crocheted many beautiful beau beat beautiful gifts for her family and friends fr ends One of her specialities is pin hair-pin lace In the last few years she has crocheted six lovely In addition to her seven seven children she has two sisters six grandchildren and two great grandchildren living |
