Show ANOTHER OFF DAY ON WALL STREET Dealings Under tho Average in MM p Volume, and Little Activ-ity Activ-ity Shown. WWt NEW YORK, April S. Today's stock HH market was similar In character to that of yesterday, with fair spots of aggressive strength and with a pressure to sell at high points for realizing of profits. Dealings did not reach the recent avcr-rgc avcr-rgc volume, and the strong stocks wcro HH rather less effective In sustaining the fl market against the realizing at other 91 pcints. Today's conspicuous advances I were In Atchison, Amalgamated Copper and Brooklyn Transit. Tho movement in Atchison has been foreshadowed for several sev-eral days, during which points have been published on Atchison's strong position of Independence in the transcontinental field and the necessity of consulting It In order to maintain any harmony of action Jn that field. The recent great advance in Union Pacific Pa-cific pointed to a movement in Atchison, also In compensation. Tho buying of Amalgamated Copper was ostensibly based on tho many reports of the strong position of tho copper trade. Thf plain eldenco of selling of Union Pacific and United States Steel preferred dqprlvod tho market of what has been its most effective effect-ive support, and other stocks which hnvo been successively advanced havo been" sold in the same way. Tho closing up of a speculative campaign cam-paign was thus suggested in a way rather unpleasant to tho followers of the lato aav&ncc. Tho preliminary estimates of the week's currency movement makes It probablo tliat the loss by gold exports and sub-treasury operations has been mostly' offset by tho receipts on balance by tho regular express movement. This Is without with-out taking Into account of the paying out today by the sub-treasury of nearly 55.000,-000 55.000,-000 on account of the Japanese gold received re-ceived at San Francisco yesterday. The revived nctilty in stocks and tho week's sales of railroad bond issues Indicate tome expansion in tho loan account of tho banks, The undisturbed case In tho money market Is clear proof of abundant rosourccs up to the present, and the bank statement attracts no special Interest. After Af-ter touching tho lowest prices of tho day in tho llnal hour, tho markot rallied and closed steady, but very dull. Heavy realizing In United States Steel cccond 5s made the bond market Irregular. Irregu-lar. Total sales, par value, $2,930,000. United States 2s advanced on call. I NEW YORK BOND LIST.
