Show GOVERNMENT AID FOR IRRIGATION IN IDAHO Special to The Tribune. NAMPA. Ida., April 8. Relative to the Government irrigation aid question, tho aJl-absorblng topic In the Bolso valley at the present time. Mayor-elect II. A. Partridge Part-ridge of this city, who Is at tho hood of tbo principal irrigation projects in tho Boise and Payette valleys, said: "You may say that the Government soon will glvo the much-necded aid for increased water facilities In this valley, and that the aid will bo substantial and liberal." Twice within as many ' weeks Mr. Partridge lias been called to Tiolso to confer con-fer with Govern nent and State officers, and soon two sot3 of surveyors will be at work In the Tayette and Boise valloys making permanent the temporary surveys made some tlmo ago under State Knginccr D. X. Ross, who Is now at Salt Lake. Tho canal projects thus far outlined j call for a canal from the Payette river to I the Bolso river and to enter the latter at a point nbout twenty-two allies from the city of Boise. By this ditch it Is proposed to divert a given amount of water from the Payetto river to water the lower end of the Boise valley, so that the full How of tho Boise river may be used to irrigate tho fertile lands near 'the mountain regions of the upper Boise valley. By this new move the Phyllis and Rldcnbaugh canals, lately districted, will furnish anlple water for all lands tributary to them and tho water problom of the Bolso valley Is I solved. |
