Show Retail Grocers Favor Reforms National Convention Attracts Many Delegates, and Will Take Action on Needed Legislation. SAN FRANCISCO, May 1. Several hundred of tho Eastern' delegates to the convention of tho National Association As-sociation of Retail Orocors, which will open tomorrow, arrived today. One train brought 350 delegates and friends from Chicago. Tho convention will continue con-tinue four days. A large number of addressee on, topics cW" interest to tho trade will bo heard during dur-ing the week. Tho convention managers are looking forward to decisive action on several matters of general concern to the retailers. One of theae Is tho parcelH post bill, which the retallerB oppose. Another is tho pure food bill that has already passed tho lower house of Congrce. This is strongly favored. Then the convention 1h expected to take action looking to tho enactment of uniform loglalatlon by tho StatCH for tho better protection of retail merchants, the garnishment law of Minnesota Min-nesota being the Idoul aimed at. It Is sdao hoped to perfect a mutual protective association as-sociation to do for retailers what the Dun and Bradstroot commercial agencies do for tho wholesalers In advising as to the responsibility of customers.
