Show DEATH BY HANGING Woman Patient in Asylum at Provo, After Eating Her Breakfast, Makes Rope of Bed Clothing and Suicides-Court Suicides-Court Orders. TRIBUNE SPECIAL. Provo, Jan. 30. Mrs. Susanna Gerbcr, an Inmate of the State Mental hospital, hospi-tal, committed suicide this morning at that institution by hanging. When breakfast was taken Into her room she appeared to be In good spirits and ate heartily of the food placed before her. The attendant left her for a time and when she returned was horrfilod to find the dead body of Mrs. Gerbcr suspended sus-pended from the top of a window. The woman had made a rope of bed clothes and tied one end to the top of the window, win-dow, slipped a noose on her neck and stepped off of the chair. The county officers were notified. Sheriff Harmon and County Attorney Anderson, after an Investigation, decided that no inquest in-quest was necessary. The unfortunate woman was about thirty-four years of age and was committed com-mitted to the hospital from Salt Lake City about four years ago, suffering from suicidal mania. The attendants have prevented her on several occasions occa-sions from taking her life. Tho body will he shipped to Salt Lake City for burial. Court Orders. Harper, deceased; de-ceased; John P. Hayes. E. D. Olpine and Albert Olpine appointed appraisers. Estate of Charles Lapworth, deceased; de-ceased; account approved and decree of distribution granted. The local lodge of Elks has commenced com-menced preparations for the big convention con-vention to be hold in this city on June 22nd and 23rd. Ex-Sheriff George Storrs came In this morning from his railroad work In Colorado Col-orado for a short visit with his family. C. O. Newell has returned from a business bus-iness trip to Statcllne and reports that mining camp to be In a most prosperous prosper-ous condition. There is no snow In the district and the roads are dry and dusty. |
