Show TWENTY MORE ARRESTS. Employees and Actors of Company , Placed Under Bonds. Chicago, Jan. 2. Twenty men arrested Mn connection with tho Iroquois theater tragedy were arraigned before Justice Cavorly In the Harrison street police court today on a charge of manslaughter. Five of tho defendants were members of the chorus of the "Mr. Bluebeard" company, and were defended by Attorney Thomas Hogan. No testimony was given In court and It was immediately agreed that a continuance be granted. Most of the lime was devoted to an effort by the attorney at-torney to have the bonds of his clients ro-duced ro-duced from the $5000 In which they had been held. In the end the bonds In oach caue were reduced to $1000 and tho cases placed on tho calendar for hearing January Janu-ary 11th Attornoy Hogan told the magistrate that his cllcntB had nothing to do with the management, construction or handling of the scenery. He said they continued singing even after tho .audience became panic-stricken, In a vain effort to allay tho fear of the frightened audience. Those who will be arraigned before Justice Cav-erly Cav-erly January 11th are-Edward are-Edward W. Wines. Victor Bozart, Samuel Sam-uel Bell, William Slack, John J, Russell and E. T. Mora. The other defendants will be heard before Justice Caverly Monday, They are. W. B. Kerr, William McMullon, William Plunkett, Max Mazzonivltch, A. Berand. Edward Eagle, William McQucon. William Wil-liam Olson. F. Poland, William Carlcton. J. J. Andrew and F. P. Nolan. Their bonds were placed at $3000 each. |
