different styles coming out nil ho time Time was when by the middle mid-dle of December It was epecttd that the question of the winter hut would be settled but now It is apparently possible to wear the winter hat for only a short time and there must be a Afferent one for each and every gown To appear In one hut foi any length of time Is a most unfashionable thing to do At the prices asked for the i smart hats of this season It would not I seem possible to have many but price I I apparently Is no barrier when anything any-thing Is fashionable and the modern I I hat Is from the beauty of ltd materials Its coloring and Its ahape almost a I I work of art There le howcVcr a decided attempt being made to modify the large hat I that has had so successful a reign I This Is not by any means saying that I I the large hat Is out of fashion for large hats arc quite In stjle and arc i I woin morning afternoon and evening I I and by young and old but all the latest styles show a decided modification modifica-tion of any exaggeration ind there arc I more small hats to be seen than has been the case for many a long day The picture hat Is still picturesque but not conspicuously so The left brim Is i tinned up flu enough to show the hair and also the trimming beneath the brim but In order to be fashionable It I does not requIre to be placed at right angles to the head The crowns are I larger but not materially so only enough to give the effect of there really being a crown to tho hat and the hat I Itself consequently docs not appear 1r iJII tll ill19irIIi ill19 irIIi lI iil il black beaver felts are fashionable but they have been so popular that now arc to be seen the plain beavers again with the stIff lines sot ned by a twist of velvet around the crown a binding of velvet
