Show TRAINING SCHOOL NOTES The eighth grade boys made a trip up one of the canyons last week and camo back with a large pine tree which they presented to the second grade last l Thursday Thurs-day o Supervisor Horace Curimlnps loft Friday Fri-day for Beaver where ho will conduct a threeday county convention of the Beaver county teachers o Supervisor G L Thomson left Wednesday Wednes-day for Chicago where he will spend his Christmas vacation e B IL Robinson will spend bin vacation with his family In Pleasant Grove Tho blackboards In tile different rooms were decorated with a number of chalk drawings by the training teachers The drawings represented Christmas and winter win-ter scenes o The fourth grado entertained tho fifth grade with a short play after which the fifth firado presented each fourth grade student with a bug of homemade candy o The sixth and seventh grades sao avery a-very fine Joint programme after which they inado an exchange of presents The eighth grade entertained the second grade and gave each child a pencil sharpener sharp-ener und a box of candy o The fourth grade students made a number num-ber of candy boxes and filled them with candy made by tho practice teachers These wire presented to tho children of j tho beginners grade who responded with I a very entertaining programme consisting I of Christmas enrols and stories The last I number was a song about Santa Claus when as the last words wore suns the room wa darkened the electric llphta turned on and Santa Qlaus camo In loaded with presents Each child had designed baskets and made them Into pincushions and these together with hat racks sere presented to tho parents who were at tho exercises The kindergarten met Thursday night at 730 In the kindergarten rooms The children chil-dren nil brought their parents and showed them how they were nmusod and Instructed Instruct-ed during their first year In school The programme consisted of games and songs After tho programme the children led tholr parents Up to n large Christmas tree which they themselves had decorated and there each parent was presented with some article which his child had made Among the presents were matchscratch ers collarbutton coxes key racks handkerchief hand-kerchief hugs and colanders The most enjoyable of all the Christmas Christ-mas entertainments Was that given by the second grade students under Miss Lunoro I Samson Kor over a week the llttlo students stu-dents had been looking forward to Friday morning and had made big preparations to make It tho moot enjoyable day In the lives of tho forty little St Anns orphan whom Miss Samson had Invited to come and share the Christmas entertainment of the forty little children of her room and such a crowd of Jolly children It would bo hard to had A programme was prepared pre-pared as follows Chorus by the children a story by Mlsq Tlbbs l solo David Bnl lour h Christmas In Norway Denmark Holland Germany France and Italy Miss Morris and the children story Tulla Mol Icrup song bv six little girls dramatization dramatiza-tion Tho Night I Before Christmas Telephone to Santa Claus by Allen Stnnhlldcr Then a real Santa Clans > > ad cd with sifts Euch little orphan was presented I pre-sented with a box of candy and loaded down with books and toys which the children had been gathering together during dur-ing the past week The first grade made bread boards and clay paper weights and a 1WI t calendar ao presents for their fathers and mothers |
