Show BOYS WOUND FATAL Fritz Halloran Died This Morning as Resuit of Accidental Shooting Shoot-ing in Parleys Canyon Fritz old of W Fritz the clovonyearold son o J Halloran died at the Holy Cross hospital about 1 oclock this morning as the result of an accldenlal gunshot wound received in Parleys canyon Monday evening The boy was brought down from the scene of the accident about eighteen miles up the canyon Inn In-n most critical condition nt noon yesterday yes-terday and taken to the hospital but the serious nature of his wound and the unavoidable delay In bringing him within reach of surgical aid rendered hIs recovery doubtful from the first The boy was out hunting Monday evening even-Ing wllh a young brother and Henry Kendall L boy of 16 A spring broke In Iho lock of the 22callber rifle the boys had and young Kendall was endeavoring en-deavoring to fix It with n bit of rubber rub-ber when the weapon wan discharged the hal striking Fritz in thc left groin The accident occurred about G oclock but It was Impossible to get tho wounded boy to tho city until noon yesterday Ho was at once taken to the hospital and an operation performed per-formed by Drs Hosmer and Stewart The surgeons found that the ball had entered the right groin anj passed out the left hip perforating the intestines mlncri In Alaska ronlllng that recovery was almost impossible im-possible l the surgeons and hospital attendants at-tendants did all In their power to make the boy comfortable and to save his life but their efforts were In vain He had been resting quietly through the night until shortly before 1 oclock when he began to sink rapidly and pusscd away before his father could reach the bedside The boy was conscious con-scious to the end and spoke to the nurse Just a moment before death came He was an unusually bright and clover boy dear to all his family and friends to whom the sympathy of hundreds fourteen limes In its course While |
