Show HE FOUGHT THE INDIANS William Bigby Who Came to Utah in 1819 Dies Suddenly of Pneumonia While nil the rest of the world Is making mak-ing merry and friends arc expressing their kindliest wishes of peace and good cheer to one another the family and friends of William Rlgby aro mourning his untimely death caused by a severe attack of pneumonia Four weeks ago today the deceased was brought home from the Holy Cross hosplial where he hfid undergone a successful operations for gangrene which had necessitated the amputation of his right leg just above the ankle He was gutting along nicely l until ho contracted a cold which developed devel-oped into pneumonia Mr Rlgby was born In Iayland Lancashire Lan-cashire county England = on the 8th oC August 1S33 He was lat r converted to tin Mormon church and emigrated to Utah In lie year 1S43 He was cozibpicu otis in all the early Indian I skirmishes and nerved as nn officer In the Black Hawk war He also engaged In farming and was one of the chief freighters during the palmy days of Alto For the last twenty years he has been constantly engaged in the stock business at which hu was very successful A friend said of him I dont believe the man had un enemy on earth He always al-ways considered the welfare of other poo pie before his own and would rather suf mom a wrong than commit one The funeral services will be held next Sunday at noon from the Seventh ward chapel All friends and former acquaintances acquaint-ances are especially Invited to attend The Interment will be In tho City cemetery |
