acrimoni-ous took place A substitute limiting all auxiliary associations recognized by the G A R to the1 Womens alliance was adopted by an overwhelming vote PRAISE FOR MISS BARTON A resolution was then adopted praising prais-ing the work and character of Miss Clara Barton and authorizing cooperation I coop-eration with the Red Cross society A I resolution was also adopted asking I Congress to make an appropriation for the purpose of erecting a suitable monument at Washington to commemorate com-memorate the services of the soldiers and sailors of the army and navy of the Civil war AdJtGen
