count building with an attendance of about sixty members President Jesse < > L Smith presided and W D Calllster acted a secretary President Smith read his address as follows In making my report for the last six months I am pleased to elate lhat our organization Is in good condition and its i purposes are being carried out as well if not better than ever before Since the settlement of the license tax question in the case of Cache county vs Joseph f Jensen all other similar cases have been dismissed and the costs of appeal amounting to tC450 have been refunded lo the association The case of Davis county vs James Klppen for befouling the water of Mill creek east of Bountiful has been decided I de-cided In favor of Klppen Another similar case in NephI against Joseph I J r I S I > l f 41l S An I appeal has been taken to the District court These cases are generally brought through prejudice and spite and so far have failed when taken beyond tho Justices courts We have several damage suits against members brought by people of Nevada for crossIng cross-Ing certain railway lands These cases are in progress and tho results will bo known later RASMUSSEN CASE PENDING The case of thp State of Idaho vs Rasmussen for entering the Stale against the Governors proclamation is slill pending in the United States Supreme court The general Government Govern-ment has appointed scab Inspectors to inspect shipments of sheep for Eastern East-ern markets This Inspection has been thorough and has given general satisfaction satis-faction I believe r to be the best method for the eradication of scab and the solution of our local difficulties difficul-ties over this question The associations finances are In good condition and now show a balance bal-ance in the treasury of 110321 This Is sufficient to pay our present Indebtedness Indebted-ness and by the time the assessments for this year arc paid In full there Is no reason why It should not meet the expenses for the ensuing year The tlmo Is close at hand when preparations pre-parations for the entertainment of tho J i National LiveStock association must begin Every sheepman in the State should take a special Interest In thin mailer and sec that the entertainment is a success I will bring 1 great many people to our capital 1 city from every part of the Nation sheepmen cattlemen horsemen and hogmcn from every State in the Union Questions of great Importance will be discussed by practical men and many bright and able papers will be read by men cf experience In the livestock business NATIONAL CONVENTION MEETING MEET-ING I Is likely also that the convention of the National WoolGrowers association asso-ciation will meet here immediately after af-ter the livestock convention Is 1 over This will add much Interest to the occasion oc-casion and will bring together the I largest number of woolgrowers that f I have ever met in convention in any part of the world o I thank the members of the association 1 asso-ciation for their support In aiding me and the executive committee in attain lug to the success we have had and trust that you will continue to support the hew board that may be elected today The presldenls especially In the matter of attacks that might be made on the sheepmen by opposing interests Time chair staled that the executive committee had that duty In charge The chair appointed ac a committee I
