i HISTORICAL SOCIETY MEETING I Interesting Session Held In the LD S College There was but i small attendance of the members at the meeting of tho State Historical l society In the assem blyroom of tho L DS college but these were augmented by many of tho pupils of the school and several of the teachers Dr Talmage presided and Tie spoke of the urgent necessity of having the r old landmarks preserved and investigations investiga-tions Into antiques pushed ahead 1 Mis Ruth M Fox paid a tribute to the 4 Founders the Commonwealth Commonwclh and showed how necessary It was for people of the present to prepare anl Intelligent In-telligent history for those who are yet to come Prof Brimhall talked on the growth of teaching and grew reminiscent t as he showed the changes that had been brought about in Utah during the last i two decades Mrs Helen T Sanford read a paper In which she compared ancient and modern history and showed how much deeper was the search for facts now than in the days gone by There were musical numbers by Miss Ruth Wilson Fred Graham Prof A C Lund Arthur Shepard being the accompanist ac-companist
