Show I CADET BRETHS CASE His Physician Denies Statements of Superintendent Military Academy Altoona Pa Dec 21Dr F E Goodman the Breth physician today denied the statements of Col Mills Superintendent of West Point and Father OKcefo regarding Breth Mills he claimed was not at West Point when Breth was there and Father OKeefe says he came there only a week after Broths admission sailing fon Europe Continuing he said saing I know personally that the physical test to which West Point cadets must submit would not in the least lay in the case of John Breth Four or five army doctors pronounced him a splendid specimens of physical development at the time he was examined and Gen iSawrence told Cadet Broths sister that a more magnificent constitution than Breths he had never seen And yet ten days after admission Breth goes to the hospital broken in health on the verge of physical collapse suffering intensely i with external hemorrhoids That there are hidden lhat hazing reasono hazlnS Ieasono back of this I cannot doubt doubt Dr Bannister says Breth was In the hospital twice Well then I know of at least one other time not recorded or course young Breth would not men tion his treatment freely no boy would and I believe Breth was sensi tive about the matter But his feelings were deep feelngs Once they took John and made him eat soap They know I would ruin his dlgestipn thats why they gave It I guess The first time it did gave affect him much so they repeated It with a stronger dose They went into John Broths room these I cadets and tore up his trunks and furnishings and then reported him for slovenliness and un tidiness It was a miserable lifo for him h |
