I YOUNG AND FOLLAND IN LEAD I I Result of Competition for Appointment Annapolis Dependent on Physical Examinations a I The committee conducting the examlna1 lion for tho appointment Annapolis examined ex-amined the papers submitted yesterday and stated that as a whole the papers were unusually good Tho questions which were prepared by Superintendent I Cooper aro said to have been such that I the candidates passing this preliminary examination will need havo no fear bf tho entrance examination tho academy Burgess Young and Robert Folland received re-ceived tho first and second highest markings mark-ings respectively In the educational ox I amination and Ihoy yesterday underwent a physical examination by Dr Wright As tho physical standard has been sot very high other candidates standing next highest In their markings will also undergo under-go a physical examination so that tho highest average both standards may bo obtained While candidates Young ilnd Folland hnvc neither been accepted nor rejected It Is quite probable that the ro suit of their phyilcul examination was not as good aa their educational requirements require-ments or further examinations would not be made It Is expected that the appointments appoint-ments of tho principal and alternate will be announced
