ADAM PAUL RESIGNS Succeeded by CR Howe as Presi dent of Workingmcns Club After a short week of glory na presi dent and highmuckamuck of the Democratic Workingmcns club Adam Paul tendered his resignation it last evenings meeting and Councilman C n Howe was selected to fill the va vane The gathering took place In the Fcl cratlon of Labor huh and a dozen or so stalwarts were present After the routine business had all been disposed of President Oom Paul arose and broke to the assembly his In tention of resigning He said that ob jections hnd been made to his holding the office and he deemed it best to re sign Mr Paul said however that he would continue to be an active mem bet of the club The resignation was promptly S ac cepted And C n Howe was then elected by acclamation to fill the high office made vacant by Mr Pauls with drawal The club proposes to hold a big pub lic meeting on February 7th but the place of gathering has not yet been decided upon No new members were admitted last evening although nke Raleigh was seen hanging around the entrance be fore the meeting opened
