Show FRANKLIN ENTERTAINMENT Largo Audience Delighted with Pro gramme of the Children The Fifteenth ward meetinghouse may at some lime have held a larger audience than the one which gathered there last evening but It Is very doubtful for It seemed that every available Inch of space In the large hall was accupled while both the front and buck doors were opened and dOOIR WCle people peo-ple unable to gain admittance sW mel around the entrances Numbers too were turned away unable to gain admittance ad-mittance I The occasion for all this was the benefit given by 1 the pupils of the Franklin school for their Dlano fund and more than 100 was cleared from the entertainment 1 And the entertainment furnished was one of unusual exuellence From tiiC first I to the last every number on tbi plo nlnmc was given In a way which elicited the heartiest npplauc ant wellearned applause it urns too The drills given by the pupils of the Seal dris gicn lw pupis tH oral grades were very pretty Indeed and showed the most careful training First was the doll drill by the llule tots of loom 1 a charming feature of the programme Then thieve was a wand drill by the little girls of Room C a tambourine drill by twelve glrlK from Room 0 1 a fan drill by the girls of Room 7 and nn Indian club drill by eight boys and girls from 12 all of which were worthy of very 1 high commendation The Hamilton school orchestra and a chorus made up of sevenih and eighth grade pupils gave several selections In good style I Then there was a solo by Horace Ensign a duet by Jennfo Evans and Lucy Ash ton recitations by Shirley Jones Ernest Jones and Winnie Tibbs a vocal duet by Edith Evans ant Maud Hot also a vocal duet by Juddle Ashton nnd Joe Price a piano solo by Mamie Curlier a vocal solo by Emma Jorgcnson and one by Hugh Willis and a clarionet solo by Ben Nelson The programme closed with 11 chorus by the pupils of the seventh and eighth grades Dell Olsen n young boy with an unusually beautiful voice Inking the solo parts |
