Show I POLITICAL CONDITIONS IN IDAHO f Lyttleton Price Shows How Republicans Republi-cans Are Gaining I I Lyttleton Price of Haley who Is a guest at the Kenyon said last evening i I In regard to the political sltdation In Idaho It I Is well known that the Demo I I erals by a cpmblnatlon with the Populists Popu-lists got a good majority in the State and If they continue to pull together I they are likely to continue to control the State However the Republicans are increasing I In strength as there is a decided de-cided Increase in the population of the I State and there arc many new business busi-ness enterprises which require the Investment I In-vestment of money as tho State Is being i developed The inauguration of these new enterprises Is bringing bright active ac-tive and Intelligent men Into the State I and these are for the most part Republicans Re-publicans The Republican spit which occurred I when McKinley was first nominated has I been entirely healed and the Silver Republican I Re-publican party has entirely disappeared 1 disap-peared all but a small remnant reuniting re-uniting with the Republican party and that remnant has gone Into the Democratic Demo-cratic party The Republican party In Idaho has been unfortunate in that I there has been too much personal poll tics In Its ranks but we believe that feature Is eliminated now and we expect ex-pect to conduct the next campaign as in the other States I The pardon of Corcoran was a strictly I I strict-ly l Democratic party movement and has been sp understood but many Democrats Demo-crats were much opposed to It and the effect of Gov Hunts action Is bound to l be disastrous for his party He stultl tIed himself and demonstrated it In giving his reason which was really no I reason nt all The dynamite element Is just a numerous as ever In the State as was Indicated by the last vote Mr Price prophesied a great future for Idaho In mining agriculture railroad rail-road enterprises building and Its many industrial |
