dry ground and over thirty miners the 1 management has been shipping ores to I I the East Helena smelter which affords I > an average of 100 ounces in silver with I p about 1 In gold and fractional averages F aver-ages in copper per ton It Is upon these representations all of which say the I visitors will be substantiated that Salt Lake talent has taken hold and that the trade will be consummated they at least entertain no doubt Lower Mammoth Developments Official reports from the property of the Lower Mammoth company at Tin tic all Indicate most Important developments I devel-opments there with a carload of llrst I class ore ready for the market Col I Ellis president of the company said last night after talking with the superintendent su-perintendent over the telephone that on Friday last upon the 700foot level and after driving for 120 feet on the vein they had developed ores that show horn silver In considerable abundance while face samples and a carload hoisted hoist-ed for shipment show an average of I fiftyone ounces silver with fine values in copper and some gold Harry Joseph of the executive committee who visited vis-ited the mine on Sunday and who took an average from the breast of the new ore body obtained an assay yesterday showing 159 ounces silver with 220 in gold The latter was Incredulous however and said he was prepared to believe that some one had salted his samples The best evidence of the fact 1 that an important change has occurred at the mine is that the heavy dealing in the shares at yesterdays call was on orders from persons employed there Col Ellis says that on each side of the silverbearing ores Is a line showing of copper ore that assays as high as 15 per cent In that metal with considerable consid-erable silver and some gold In his report re-port the superintendent says he has no doubt that he is now above the big I body of ore for which so much digging has been done and that on the 800 loot level upon which drifting to the vein will begin in a few days he expects ex-pects to demonstrate it The Shoebridge Bonanza Strike Yesterdays assays upon samples from the new strike in the property of the Shoebridgc Bonanza at Tlntlc show from 1 to 14 per cent copper and from twentytwo to thirtyseven ounces silver sil-ver with some gold and verify all that has been claimed by Superintendent Superinten-dent Carruthers and Col Heffron who uncovered the body With several feet of this class of ore with which to come to market the reimbursement of those who have been digging Into their pockets pock-ets while developments have been going go-ing on at the mine cannot be distant and already the raising of ore has begun be-gun While the assays show a very fine margin they are not yet to be compared com-pared with values that were derived I from the same ore chute at an early day and when its samples were awarded award-ed a first prize at the Centennial exposition expo-sition In Philadelphia It Is this lat ter that the management hopes to uncover un-cover now at almost any shot although very much pleased with what has already al-ready been accomplished It looks now as if the Shoebridge had passed beyond be-yond the doubtful period and that it will be the next heavy producer in that portion of Tintic district Horn Silver Tunnel Option The properties of the Horn Silver Tunnel Mining and Milling company located at Frisco this State houve been secured on an option by jr w Wedall of Gravity la who has bound himself to pay for them 530000 on or before November 15 1Q01 the first payment in the sum oC 5000 to be made three months from tho signing of the con tract The second payment matures In Ilx months and the third In nIne each in 55000 It Is understood that the op Uhon requires steady development all the while that the payments are bein made and that already the purchaser has a fair showing of ore on which to proceed The ground is very favor ably located with reference to the properties at Frisco and promlS gives pr ° m > E of developing into a producer The Interest hitherto held In the nron erty by Dr M N Buck of this I I clly was yesterday sold by him r
