Show CASE AGAINTS PINGREE Law Points Involved Argued Objections 3 Objec-tions Presented and Overruled Lansing Mich Tho motion of ex Coy Pingrees attorney to dismiss the contempt proceedings brought against the exGovernor because of certain criticisms of the Ingham county Circuit court and prosecutor In an Interview with a Detroit paper came up In the Circuit court today The motion alleges al-leges Jack of Jurisdiction on the part of the court Attorney Stevenson for cxGov Plngrcc In support of lib claim of no Jurisdiction raised two objections that the Governor aa one of the coordinate co-ordinate branches of the State government govern-ment could not be in contempt of another an-other coordinate branch the Judiciary and that the statutes limit the power 1 of the court to punish for contempt which Is committed in UB presence or about a matter pending In court and that tho language complained of was I not within those provisions Judge Wlsnec overruled both objections objec-tions and gave the respondent excep tions to his rulings HO that the case may be taken to tho Supreme court at once The contempt proceedings were then continued until February llh |
