Show HIGH SCHOOL ARf EXHIBIT Large Attendance at Ladies Literary Clubhouse Last Night The Ladles Literary clubhouse probably never before accommodated anything like the number of people that gathered there last evening to see the art exhibit held under the auspices of the Salt Lake high schqol The main room and receptionroom were simply packed and it was impossible im-possible l during the early part of the evening to Alew the pictures OL casts with any degree of satisfaction The gathering was largely made up ot young people of the high school hut a number of parents and teachers were also Keen The exhibit was open all clay In the morning Miss Esther Allen favored those present with several violin selections selec-tions and Miss Irma Watson with a piano solo In the afternoon Mr Ilarwood gave a demonstration of clay modeling and Prof Sehettler rendered a guitar solo A talk on the process of magazine illustration was given in the evening by Prof Hagar Miss Holon Shepard and Roy Williams furnished the musical part of the programme their selections being much enjoyed In addition to tile original drawings draw-ings and oasts placed in the exhibit by the Ladies Literary club some work In pencil water colors and clay modeling by the students of the school placed In the receptionroom created much favorable comment On the curtains In the main room were placed a beautiful collection of sea mosses from Pad lie Grove Cal made by Miss Buchanan of the high school DownstaliH lemonade punch was served throughout tho day und evenIng even-Ing by the MlHJes Jessie Holmes Nellie Bennett Harriet Cohn Minnie Win gate Sadie Merrill Blanche Cherry I and lono Morrison Time attendance wan good in the morning1 and aftarnoon ax well as in time evening and quite a sum WUH realized real-ized from the affair which will go toward purchasing casts and pictures for the assemblyroom of the high school |
