POLLOCK IS DETERMINED I S Hospital Attendant Thought He Intended Jumping From Window I and His Removal to Jail Followed I I S Peter J Pollock the Mercur mining man who attempted suicide by cutting i open his wrists Monday made what waslooked upon as n second attempt to end his life late last night at the Holy Cross hospital After making a number num-ber of requests to be allowed to go unescorted un-escorted Into the bathroom Pollock suddenly arose from his bed and started start-ed toward one of the windows on the third floor When the night attendant B J Benson saw that he was going in I the direction of a window ho at 1 once suspected that Pollock Intended I Jumping out and accordingly hastened to Intercept the unfortunate man II seizing him by the arm Pollock struggled to c tire hut wan forced I back Info bed As he made Several further attempts to get uP1 was decided de-cided to have him removed to the 11 Iemovec the padded cell at the county Jail Officers Parry and Cannon escorted him to that place and once Inside the padded cell Pollock grew more calm He will probably be examined as to his sanity at an early date
