Show NEW OFFICERS FOR THE FORT LicutCol Eskridge and Capts Clagatt and Dapray ComingWith Two Companies of the Twentythird I LloutCol Eskrldge of the Twenty third infantry will come to Fort Doug las with the two companies of tho regiment regi-ment to bo stationed at the post Col l I Eskrldge was so severely wounded Cuba that he was unable to proceed with his regiment to the Philippines and remained In San Francisco The officers in command of the companies coming here arc Capt J R Claggett and Capt John A Dapray LieutCol Eskrldgo served with distinction dis-tinction through the Civil war He enlisted in the Second Iowa Infantry as a private September 10 1861 and was honorably discharged May 1 1S62 He served in tho Second Missouri cn vary v-ary as a private and sergeant from January 9 3SG4 until February 8 18G5 i when he was made First Lieutenant of the Fourteenth Missouri cavalry and was advanced toa Captaincy on Au gust 2S 1SG5 and was mustered out November 17th of the same year Ho became Second Lieutenant of tho Fourteenth Four-teenth infantry February 23 ISfiO was appointed First Lieutenant March 22 1866 On September 21 1866 he was transferred to the Twentythird Infantry Infan-try and was made BrevetCaptain September Sep-tember 20 3SG7 He became Captain September 1 1S73 and Major of thor tho-r r th infantry April 17 1897 Ho became be-came Lieu t lIantCol nel March 20 1890Capt Capt J Rosier Clagett was appointed Second Lieutenant of the Twentythird infantry Novembr 20 3S7 Ho was advanced to the position of First Lieutenant Lieu-tenant April 9 1SSI and became Cap lain June 28 1892 Capt John A Dapray entered the Twentytlhrd infantry as Second Lieutenant Lieu-tenant November 2G 18SO was made First Lieutenant June 28 1889 and was I advanced to a Captaincy April 26 1S9S I |
