Show YOUNG MAN STABBED IN FIGHT William Williams Severely Wounded in a Saloon at Lagoon and His Injuries May Result Fatally I At 1130 last night the barroom at Lagoon was the scene of I miniature riot and when the affray had ended It was discovered that William Williams about 20 years oC age who Is employed as a cnrpctIayer by the Coop Furniture I Furni-ture company had been severely stubbed and may not recover while Jack McFaddcn a young fellow who claims to bo a miner and who gave his residence as Salt Lake also received re-ceived a severe gash over the right side of the head The affair happened just before tho last train was about to depart for this city From such information in-formation as could be had from the late passengers It appears that there was i general row In the saloon but that the principals intho melee were MoFaddcnA Williams and two brothers by the mime of Evans who are said to reside in Centerville Just what started start-ed tho row no one seemed to know Some were of the opinion that McFad den received his wound at the hands of one of the liarkccpers while others said that he had Interfered In behalf of Williams who was getting the worst of l when the Evans boys turned on him also McFaddon and the Evonses were arrested ar-rested and placed In Jail at Farming ton while Williams was brought to this city and placed on 0 stretcher at 1 the Salt Lake and Ogden depot where Drs McElroy and Uulduln examined I his injuries ire was found to be suffering suf-fering from four knife wounds ono behind I be-hind the left car another under tho left arm and two In lie back near the spine IIo had lost considerable blood I but was conscious all the time groan I log however at Intervals as if In I great pain Between his spasms of 1 pain he managed to say to those at tho depot that he was not to blame in the matter and wan quite bIter in hl expressions 1 ex-pressions toward the men who had he I said Jumped on him without any provocation Wllllamss mother was sent for and she was much distressed over the condition con-dition of her son Her consent was obtained ob-tained that he be treated at the Holy Cross hospital and he was taken thereat there-at 2 oclock this morning Dr Baldwin said it was too early to say what the results of the Injuries might be The Injured iran had lost a great quantity of blood and there had been no opportunity to examine the wounds and probably a complete examination ex-amination would not take place until today Wllllamss frlcnda say he is of a very quiet disposition One of the young fellows who was in the bar at the time of the trouble said he saw it all but could not tell how It happened as It was all over so quickly |
