examination of title which Is now being conducted by counsel for the purchasing crowd resulting satisfactorily satisfac-torily control of the Dixie group of copperbearing mines together with the in-volves about 510000 and which carries with it the united interests of Dr J C E King Dr Charles M Garrison r and W W Olds waa made yesterday I and that the reminder will be handed out there is scarce a doubt The Dixie group Is held by the St George Mining company which was organized shortly jCter the possession was acquired on a bond upon which the balance of 05000 will mature next February Since taking hold of it the purchasing crowd has taken out sufficient ores to enable It to construct a small plant at8t George and to open up the mine to a depth of 410 feet The ores handled have always been of a grade sensationally sensa-tionally high although accompanying this class are large bodies of silver and lead ore that may be profitably milled and for which provision will probably be made next season I Discussing the proposition yesterday I Mr Snyder said their intention was to open up the group to a depth of at least 200 feet greater than the present I and that the ores may be more economically I econom-ically handled a tramway is projected between the mine and smelter a distance dis-tance of about twelve miles In the transaction the Messrs M J and William liam OMeara retain their original Interest I In-terest and will continue with the new I crowd noUylthslandlng a seductive opportunity to step out entirely With new blood and plenty of money with which to systematically open up the I ground the Dixie should become one of the heaviest producers of copper In the West From the upper levels it has already putout ores oC great value and everything Indicates President Freed yesterday are of the most exhilarating nature the I superintendent sending word that in the main ore chute he has encountered ore that shows as much as 5UC In gold 31 ounces silver and 8 per cent copper Another strike of equal Importance Is that reported In a new shaft on the group in which there has been exposed sixteen inches of ore which shows a valuation of 31375 gold per ton This Is reported near the grass roots and 1ass work upon It will continue steadily In the same report It Is learned that the health of Mr P J Gelser who made the sale to the company Is very much Improved and that he will soon be In condition to reenter the chase for bonanzas President Freed Is very enthusiastic en-thusiastic over conditions at the Bal larat and expects to have added It to the
