Show Space Available At Univ. for Student Housing Space is still available in University Uni-versity of Utah campus housing facilities, according to Dr. L. E. Haines, director of residence halls. Opening of new dormitory facilities during the ( summer for 381 persons assured "adequate housing for students making last minute decisions to continue their education, Dr. Haines said Because of the increase in space available, the University has instituted a policy which requires all freshman students, both men and women, to live on campus unless given permission to live elsewhere. All con-commuting freshman students therefore there-fore will have the benefit of direction and guidance from experienced and qualified graduate grad-uate and upper-class staff members mem-bers as they adjust to academic life. Although there is plenty of space available, Dr. Haines urged prospective residents to make immediate application to insure the room of their choice. The new residenceN hall will unofficially be open commencing commenc-ing the week of Sept. 17, Dr. Haines said, and students and their families are invited to visit the new facilities. The new residence hall provides pro-vides apartment living for women. Six students share one apartment consisting of kitchen, dirking room, bath and three double study-bedrooms. |
