Show Lucille Alice Rainey, Demo Party Worker, ! Succumbs in Ogden MRS. LUCILLE A. RAINEY Mrs. Lucille Alice Rainey, 49, for many years active in the Democratic party in Utah, died Tuesday afternoon in the Thomas D. Dee Hospital in Ogden of a heart attack. Mrs. Rainey, who resided at 4297 S. 1900 West in Roy, had served in numerous capacities in the party, largely the women's divisions. v She had written for The Salt Lake Times, covering the recent trip of Democratic women to conferences in Washington, D.C. She was born Jan. 26. 1912. in Whitefish, Mont., a daughter of James Paul and Ruth H. Burke. She lived in Deadwood, S.D.. and later Denver before coming to Ogden 21 years ago. Mrs. Rainey was employed as a clerk at Marquardt Corp. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She had been precinct chairman of Democratic Legislative District 6 in Roy. She had been active in art circles and the Women's Federated Clubs of Utah. She was a former reporter on the Ogden Standard-Examiner. On Oct. 16, 1948, she was married to Clifford A. Rainey in Elko, Nev. Surviving are her husband and a son, Robert W. Kinser, Ogden; three grandchildren, two brothers, broth-ers, Edgar Burke, Denver, and Alfred Burke, Lemon Grove, Calif. Requiem mass will be celebrated cele-brated Friday at 10 a.m. in St. , Mary's .Catholic Church. Burial will be in Washington Heights, Memorial Park, Ogden. |
