Show Jan Pecrce Sings At BYU April 20 Metropolitan Opera tenor Jan Peerce will be presented in con- cert at Bngham Young University Univer-sity April 20 at 8:15 p.m. in the George Albert Smith Fieldhouse. Mr. Peerce, one of America's foremost tenors, will appear as the next number in the BYU-Community BYU-Community Concert series and also as a number in the Fine Arts Festival which is being held. The schedule for the 1960-61 season for Mr. Peerce includes performances at the San Francisco Fran-cisco Opera, the Metropolitan Opera, where he will sing the roles of Rudolfo in "La Boheme" and DonOttavio in "Don Giovanni," Giovan-ni," appearances with the Bach Aria Group in New York and other cities, and with a number of major orchestras. During the last four seasons he has presented concerts in Europe. Japan, Australia, Israel, South America and other countries. coun-tries. .In 1956 he was the first American artist to sing with the Bolshoi Opera in Moscow. The Soviet Ministry of Culture has extended an invitation for him to return this spring as part of the Cultural Exchange Program. |
