Show THE SALT LAKE TIMES FRIDAY, DECEMBER 23, 1960 Page Five Tax Director Tells Returns Regulations Copies of reproduced federal tax returns may be returned to the taxpayers as unacceptable beginning January 1, 1961, Ro-land V. Wise, district director of Internal Revenue announced. Mr. Wise explained that re-produced copies of certain fed-eral tax forms and schedules may be used for filing purposes in lieu of the official forms subject to. the following prescribed condi-tions. 1. Reproductions must be fac-similes of the official form, pro-duced by photo offset, photo-engraving, photocopying or other similar reproduction process. 2. Reproductions must be on paper of substantially the same weight and texture and a quality at least as good as that used in the official form. 3. Reproductions must substan-tially duplicate the colors of the ' paper and ink of the official form ' in order to be acceptable. 4. Reproductions must have a high standard of legibility, both as to original form and as to the filled in matter. 5. Reproduction of page 3 of Schedule C and page 4 of Sched- - i ule F, Form 1040, which contain Schedule SE, Report of Self-em-- 1 ployment Income, must be on properly perforated paper of substantially the same , weight and texture as that used in the official form. 6. Reproductions should be the same size as that of the official form. However, the" standard commercial size of 8 x 11 will be accepted. The attention of tax practi-tioners is especially called to the requirement that reproductions must duplicate the colors of the paper and ink used on official forms.
