Show Veterans Reminded To Submit Report The thousands of Utah veterans vet-erans and dependants drawing pensions under a variety of separate sepa-rate laws are reminded that they must make a yearly report of income to VA in order to continue con-tinue to receive benefits. According to Elmer J. Smith, manager of the Salt Lake regional re-gional office, the annual income reporting forms will be released this year with the benefit checks at the end of December. In past years everal hundred Utah beneficiaries bene-ficiaries have had stop pays put on their accounts for failure to return questionnaires promptly, - or for improperly completed forms. The VA is especially concerned con-cerned this year because new legislation has greatly complicated compli-cated the yearly reports in certain cer-tain kinds of cases by including such items as the size of the estate, and making changes in items which must be counted as income. In view of these complications Mr. Smith cautions all persons required to make the report to very carefully study the instruction instruc-tion sheet which will accompany the form, and to seek the help of VA Contact Representatives, or local service officers, where the questions arise. As an added service this year VA contact experts will visit the major cities in the state during the month of January. These visits will be publicized in local newspapers. |
