Show Telephone Hour Offers Program Of Yule Favorites Christmas is a time for children and the Bell Telephone Hour gets into the spirit of the season by featuring some talented children chil-dren on its special program on Channel 4 on Friday, December 18 at 6:30 p.m. Thomas Mitchell, veteran stage and screen star, will serve as host for the pro- gram. Donald Vorhees and the) Bell Telephone Orchestra will accompany the guest artists. The four Lennon Sisters, aged 13 to 19, will sing popular songs on the hour long broadcast. They have been singing together since the youngest was able to carry a tune. Penny Ambrose, brilliant 13 year old violinist, will make her debut on the hour program by playing Schubert's "Ave Maria." The Little Singers of Paris, a choir of 30 boys from 10 to 16 years of age, will sing a group of French carols. Organized in 1907, this group consists of 60 boys between the ages of 10 and 16 from Paris. They continue to go to school even though they are thousands of miles from home on a world tour, for their organization is both a choir and a school. They have given 10,000 concerts in 35 countries. They sing in 21 languages, including Japanese. The grown-ups will be represented repre-sented on the program by Rosemary Rose-mary Clooney. She will sing some of America's most familiar Christmas songs. Lisa Delia Case and Giorgio Tozzi, stars of the Metropolitan Opera, will sing a group of carols from other lands. |
