Show Wife of President Heads Cancer Drive Mrs. Dwight D. Eisenhower will again be the Honorary National Na-tional Chairman of American Cancer Society April Crusade, Ira B. Sharp, Utah Chairman for the Utah Division of the American Cancer Society said this week. Mr. Sharp said that Mrs. Eisenhower, Eisen-hower, who has held this post since 1953, considers the Crusade Cru-sade an opportunityto help save many more lives from cancer and to raise essential funds for a nation-wide research attack on this primary killer. In accepting the honorary Dosition. Mrs. Eisenhower said, "I was pleased to learn that you at the American Cancer Society-are Society-are planning an even more expansive ex-pansive Crusade for 1960 and I want you to know that I will be happy to continue lending my support as Honorary National Chairman. It is reassuring to know the large number of our fellow citizens who, through the efforts of your organization have been cured of cancer. Let us hope that this increased program for the coming year will bring even greater results that before. Mr. Sharp said that stress will be placed during the 1960 Crusade Cru-sade on alerting many more people in Utah on the need to have health checkups and to be aware of cancer's seven danger signals. "One million Americans are now cured of cancer and our aim is to multiply this number significantly sig-nificantly through our own efforts ef-forts locally," he said. |
