Show the-IEASED the-IEASED GRAPEVINE Articles of incorporation have been filed for the Utah Council of Churches. Dr. G. A. Odgers, secretary of the council, said the move was taken mainly so that persons making contributions to the council could claim income deductions. Plans for a five million dollar hospital in Ogden have been announced an-nounced by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The hospital will be constructed on a 27-acre tract along Harrison Blvd. near Weber College. When the new structure is completed the Thomas D. Dee hospital will be disposed of, Church officials said. The hospital will be the most costly non-government project undertaken in Weber County. Joel Nibley, 77, retired Salt Lake City attorney, died this week. The Salt Lake County Assessor's Asses-sor's office will be open Saturday Satur-day from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. to assist the Utah Tax Commission in issuing 1958 license plates, H. P. Leatham, county assessor, announced. an-nounced. Charles Tripp Cochrane, U. S. Weather Bureau meteorologist at the Salt Lake Municipal Airport his been appointed meteoroligist in charge of the Weather Bureau at the station in Elko, Nevada. Mild winter weather and an increased number of waters now opened to all year fishing have combined to attract a record number of anglers during recent weeks. Scofield Reservoir, Locomotive Springs and Utah Lake continue to be among the most popular of the more than fifty waters open to winter angling. Spokesmen noted that this increased in-creased interest was also shown in the greater number of questions ques-tions coming to department offices of-fices and field personnel, most of which are concerned with license li-cense requirements. |
