The Coordinating Council of the Utah State Nurses Associa-tion and the Utah League for Nursing voted unanimously to support the Medical Center cam-paign in a Salt Lake City meet-ing. Following the action, Lena M. Besendorfer, 1840 Lincoln Lane, president of the Utah State Nurses Association and chairman of the Coordinating Council, is-sued a formal statement, that said: "While, as associations, we are unable to make a financial con-tribution at this time, we are urging all our members to make a personal contribution to the best of their ability to do so. "We wish the campaign suc-cess in its drive for funds and support of this very worthwhile project." The action by the Coordinating Council followed closely on the heels of a discussion by the stu-dents in the University of Utah College of Nursing to pledge a minimum of $22,000 to the cam-paign to be paid by individuals following graduation and start of work as Registered Nurses.
