Show been set up for Guardsmen. After an individual Guardsman Guards-man has paid his automobile property tax, he may take the tax verification slip, registration card and fees to his local National Nation-al Guard Armory. The papers and fees will be forwarded to the National Guard state headquarters, headquar-ters, then to the State Capitol and the plates will be mailed to the Guardsmen. These arrangements have been made as a convenience to the Guardsmen, and as a control measure iln issuing the plates. The 1958 license plates will be available after Dec. 15. National Guard Will Receive Special Plates A special 1958 automobile license li-cense plate for issue to Utah National Guardsmen is being prepared by the Motor Vehicle Division of the Utah State Tax Commission. Five thousand of the distinctive distinc-tive plates are now being manufactured manu-factured by the license plate plant at the Utah State Prison. The plates will carry the inscription inscrip-tion "National Guard." They are before issued for the first time Maj. Gen. Maxwell E. Rich, Adjutant General of Utah, announced an-nounced thenew plate will allow Guardsmen to cross lines maintained main-tained in case of riot, disorder or attack and will mark vehicles which may be commandeered in case of an emergency.
