Senator Vest introduced a joint resolution authorizing the president to offer Great Britain, Germany and France, as an induce-merit induce-merit to enter a national agi'eehieut'for the free coinaere of siiver, a reduction of 25 per cent, in the tariff on textiles,, hardware, earthenware and glass. The house at 3 o'clock this afternoon reported the conference confer-ence on the general deficiency bill presented. Much tillibustering followed. The house is still tillibustering over the general deficiency bill, tbe prospects being that consideration of the Raum matter will go over to the next session, if not indefinitely. |
