Show MUST BE POLITE. English Employes Taught a Lesson in - Politeness. Loxdox, July 9. The address issued by the postmaster general to the postoflice employes em-ployes a few weeks ago, warning them that unless greater courtesy toward the public was shown in the future, the department would be obliged to adopt stringent measures, meas-ures, has had a good effect oa the service, aud in recognition of this fact Sir James Ferguson has issued the following address: "fcince the issue of the notice of tho 19th ofApril last the postmaster general has received re-ceived from many quarters testimony to the increased attention paid to the public in postal and telegraph ort ces. "Sir James Ferguson is much gratified with this result, and desires to inform the Dost-office Dost-office employes that he believes the faults pointed out were due rather to thoughtlessness thoughtless-ness than to indifference, and he is hopeful that the satisfactory effort that has been made will bo maintained." |
