In the case of the People against Arthur Pratt, charged with assaulting D. A. Sullivan on the day of the election, and which rises se(Uel-lik- to the case which wa. disposed of by Commissioner llrcennian last evening, the defendant appeared this morning and asked for a continuance. In support of the motion Ihe defense cited that Auditor Pratt was engaged with a committee from the legislature w ho were looking into the ac-counts of the auditor, and it would be for him to absent himself without subjecting the committee to treat Incon-venience. The motion was allowed, and ihe examination put down for Tuesday next. Auditor Pratt was one of the strikers at the Fourth precinct In Ihe "late unpleasant, ness" between the parties, when D. A.
