The west side Rapid Transit people are getting a move on them. They will probably prob-ably be running cars to the lake in time for the best part of the bathing season. Camp 2, P. O. He was driving along East Brigham street in a buggy when nis horse ran away. Mr. Olsen was thrown out and besides being dangrously wounded about the head, had a rib broken. The buggy was completely wrecked, and the horse considerably injured. Sixty-five members of the society of Mechanical Me-chanical engineers arrived in Salt Lake this morning on their way to San Francisco to attend the convention at San Francisco this b month. Among them are VV. II. Wiley, k treasurer of the society, F. R. Hatton, secretary, sec-retary, and many prominent members. The party was met here by local mechanical engineers, en-gineers, who accompanied them to the lake W at 3 o'clock this afternoon. The Young Ladies' Improvement society of the Seventh ward held their annual conference con-ference last evening in the ward meeting house. The hall was beautifully decorated with flowers and choice plants and the exercises exer-cises of the evening consisted of original essays and remarks by the youag Indies of ttie society, sinking hy the choir, etc. An original poem by Miss Alice MeLachlan was received with applause.
