Show THE LEGISLATURE. The Council. The council opened with Mr. King in the chair. After prayers by the chaplain and reading of the journal, the council settled down to the business of the forty-second day. Mr. Lund of Washington county presented a petition signed by some twenty-one residents resi-dents of San Juan county, asking for a road from Montleello to the Colorado river. The committee reported favorable on II E. No. 9, an act to amend section of the compiled laws of Utah relating to Uie fees of mining recorders. This is an act to amend section of the compiled laws of ISSH, had been forwarded for-warded to the governor for his signature. Mr. Adams asked for an explanation of the report to w hich Mr. Irvine replied that the committee had determined that the city must pay one-half of the cost of construction of viaducts constructed by the railways.
